Can You Set Your C-Section?

Many moms plan to have a c-section because they are afraid that they will not be able to push, or they may have a specific birth date in mind and want to have a c-section. But can a c-section really be scheduled? What is the appropriate gestational age for a cesarean section? And should mothers give birth by c-section? Let’s discuss the answers to these questions below.Supplements or medicines

HOW MANY WEEKS INTO THE PREGNANCY IS SUITABLE TO GIVE BIRTH?

The ideal gestational age for childbirth is between 37-40 weeks. As for whether to have a natural birth or a cesarean section, it depends on the doctor's diagnosis. If the mom is in good health and the child is not too large, the doctor will recommend a natural birth because it is good for postpartum recovery and the child will receive natural immunity from the birth canal.

As for c-sections, there is no fixed gestational age. This is because a c-section is usually performed when the mom is unable to give birth naturally, such as when the mom has a serious accident, the child is too large, or there are complications that require immediate cesarean section to save the lives of the mom and the child.

However, the ideal birth time is between 37-40 weeks of pregnancy because the child is in the womb until full term. As for whether it will be a natural birth or a cesarean section, the method of birth suitable for mom will depend on the factors during the time of delivery

HOW CAN WE HELP C-SECTION KIDS DEVELOP WELL?

Giving birth via C-Section means getting a surgical procedure where the child is delivered through the mom’s abdomen. This means that the child misses out on the beneficial bacteria that is present in the mom’s birth canal. HOW MANY WEEKS INTO THE PREGNANCY CAN YOU HAVE A CESAREAN SECTION?1

If possible, doctors will try to keep the child in the mother's womb until full term so that the fetus can develop as completely as possible and wait until the appropriate delivery date, which is between 37-40 weeks of pregnancy. But sometimes there may be events beyond control, and it is necessary to have a c-section before the planned delivery date. CS delivery can also be done if there are factors that require it, such as the mom having a serious accident and being unable to give birth on her own, the mom having severe preeclampsia, or if the child is too large. In such cases, the doctor will recommend a c-section for the safety of both the mom and child.Supplements or medicines

IS IT BETTER TO HAVE A C-SECTION ACCORDING TO YOUR OWN SCHEDULE OR AS RECOMMENDED BY A DOCTOR?

These days, some moms prefer to have a c-section because they would want their child to be born during a lucky date or a date that they prefer. Though the reality is, it is still ideal for the child to be born via natural birth.1 Children born by cesarean section may be more likely to have allergies than children born naturally because they do not receive natural microbes and antibodies from their mother’s birth canal.2 In addition, recovery of the mom after a cesarean section is slower than after a natural birth. So, choosing a lucky date may not be more important than the well-being of both the mom and child. This strong foundation of health is what will pave the way for children to grow up well and be ready to learn things without interruption. Which is the true blessing for children's lives, because not having sickness is considered a greater fortune.Supplements or medicines

WHAT SHOULD YOU PREPARE BEFORE HAVING A C-SECTION?

If the doctor recommends that the mom needs a c-section because it is safer for both the mother and the child than opting for a natural birth, the mom should prepare herself before undergoing a cesarean section as follows:3

  • You should avoid or reduce solid foods 8 hours before a c-section to prevent the risk of vomiting or pulmonary complications during a cesarean section.
  • Take a shower to cleanse your body of bacteria and dirt to reduce the risk of infection during a c-section.
  • Currently, it may not be necessary to shave the pubic hair before a c-section because it can cause wounds and increase the risk of infection.
  • You should consult with your doctor about what to do, how to relieve pain, and how to take care of yourself after a c-section, so that you have the information you need to avoid panicking.
